Rowan Arthur was born Monday, May 22, at 9:23am. He was 19 1/2 inches long,
weighed 7 pounds, 8.6 ounces, and he had a 14-inch head. Not surprising, I
suppose, since I had the largest head of any of my mother's ten children.
Val is recovering wonderfully well.
We had our first pediatric appointment last Monday, and Rowan has gained two pounds and two ounces since being discharged from the hospital just a week and a half before. The doctor says Val is a Hagen Daas factory, and Rowan loves Hagen Daas. :)
Rowan seems to take after me. He eats a lot. He sleeps a lot. He's cranky when he's hungry or uncomfortable. Val now has a little baby to take care of as well as her big baby. Ah well, at least one of us is housebroken.

Oddly enough, it isn't just parents that love babies. Grandparents get in on the act as well.
